Civilization V

Ever wanted to take on the role of the world’s most famous leaders and lead your country to victory? Then this is probably the game for you. Civilization V is a game that demands both patience and intelligence but it pays off. I personally wouldn’t have thought that just watching your civilization grow and shaping it’s future would not be fun but I was wrong. It is in this way that Civilization differs from other strategy games, as the main goal is not destroying the enemy. In fact, it mimics world diplomacy as you fluctuate between destructive war and peaceful cooperation throughout the centuries.
There are four ways to win the game, each as curious as each other. You can win through science, diplomacy, culture and (of course) domination. Whether you prefer exploring the nearest galaxy or leading the UN, it’s still your choice.
Above all, my favourite aspect of Civilization V is how static it is. You can literally stop playing whenever you want, without pausing, and it will remain the same hours later. This allows you to multitask whilst playing the game, something I have never seen in any other game.
GameOver score: 11/10
